| The Society was invited to design and paint a mural in the Tom Rudd Unit at Moorgreen Hospital, West End. The aim was to interest and stimulate the elderly patients as well as the visitors. The mural depicts a carnival procession ending at a fairground and incorporates Fair Oak and Moorgreen carnival entries in previous years along with the hospital’s bus. | ![]() |
| Late in 2019, the world was hit by a coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) which, by early 2020, forced the government to introduce lockdowns. As a result, Fair Oak Art and Craft Society was unable to open for much of the year. Again, in 2021, lockdowns prevented us opening as normal and our usual annual programme of demonstrations was curtailed. We, finally, managed to re-open in a limited way on 4 August 2021. No one knows what the future holds so we have our fingers crossed that we can remain open throughout the autumn and winter! | |
